How to identify rats

Rats are generally larger than mice, with larger feet and heads. Their size, coloring and other features vary by species.

Where you may find them

Rats may be found around buildings, storage areas, crawl spaces, garages and locations where food or shelter is available.

Signs to look for

• Larger rodent droppings.
• Gnaw marks or damaged packaging.
