Fleas

How to identify fleas

Fleas are tiny, wingless insects with flattened bodies and powerful hind legs that allow them to jump. They can be difficult to spot because of their size and movement.

Where you may find them

Fleas may be present in areas where animals rest, in carpets, upholstery and other parts of an affected property.

Signs to look for

  • Small jumping insects.
  • Repeated bites or itching associated with possible flea exposure.
  • Flea activity in areas where pets or animals spend time.

Bites alone cannot confirm that fleas are present. A closer inspection may be needed.
